It's that the holiday season gives businesses a reason to advertise. So they invest more in marketing and end up selling more.
Here are a few steps you can take to maximize revenue and profit for 2023. Pinky promise this works!
It's November, you are not too late. 60 days to go.
Step 1:
Find the number 1 product or service that you are currently selling or that is being bought the most in your business. Not the most profitable. The one that is moving the most.
I don't care if the margins on this product or service are low. Stick with me.
Found that one product or service?....Great.
Step 2:
Find the product or service that brings you the most profit.
Find the product or service that brings you the second most profit.
Find the product or service that brings you the third most profit.
Find the product or service that brings you the fourth most profit.
If you only have one that is fine. And if you have all 4 then that's great too.
Step 3:
Do not. I repeat Do not! Market or try to sell anything in Step 2, you will go all in on marketing Step 1 product or service. For 60 days straight.
When you Market Step 1 product or service. Use only the top marketing channels that have been converting for you.
Google ads, Email marketing, Events. Whatever has been working. This is not the time to innovate. Use what has worked and didn't waste money.
Do not hold back and invest in the marketing channels that are effective. This is not the time to be conservative.
Step 4:
Once customers start coming in for Step 1 and purchasing it.
You will dedicate most of your team's energy for the next 2 months into up selling Step 2.
Meaning, you will immediately sell those customers the things in Step 2 as a bonus. "Hey there John, I know you just got Step 1 service, but you know what we have Step 2 service that actually makes Step 1 X times more effective. And it's only this much of a diff in investment from you"
I repeat, you will dedicate most of your energy into converting customers who come in for Step 1 to take the profitable products and services in Step 2.
Conclusion:
You will use the fact that the holiday season sets you up to advertise in your favour. You will focus on channelling all the effective marketing into the product and service that does 80% of the revenue. And then you will use that momentum to sell the products and services that make 80% of the profit.
